How the web went world wide

I was catching up with a backlog of blogs to read this evening and found this entry on BBC News from 3 Aug. Did you know it has been 15 years since the web went live.

 “One key date is 6 August 1991 – the day on which links to the fledgling computer code for the www were put on the alt.hypertext discussion group so others could download it and play with it.”

Could we live without it now?
